meet the band


debbi - lead vocals , vibes
Born and raised in Baltimore, Debbi did most of her performing in Nashville and Colorado. When not singing she is a full
time High School ESOL teacher. She loves kids, yoga, hiking, the outdoors and hanging with her family. A very talented vocalist, Debbi has a 3 octive range and a diverse vocal pallet with a style that includes Rock, Jazz, Blues, Pop, R&B and Latin. Debbi has fronted several successful bands over the years and played in some iconic venues both as an electric and acoustic act. Debbi brings a unique wealth of vocal talent and stage presence to the Tone Gypsy line up.


larry gershon - guitars, vocals
The guitar craze of the 1960's caught Larry head on, and he knew he was destined to be an axe slinger. Playing guitar in several College rock bands, Larry was fortunate enought to perform at the Preakness and also open for national acts.
A veteran of the Baltimore/DC music scene for many years, Larry has played over 1000 live shows, also running his own home recording studio as a record producer, song writer and sound engineer. He has been privileged enough to work
with Grammy nominated artists and projects. Larry brings a great depth of experience and talent to the Tone Gypsies sound and style.


bill "the moose" moose - drums, percussion
Growing up in the Washington DC suburbs, Bill played the drums in his high school jazz band, after school he played in
a variety of classic rock and blues bands in the 1980's thru the 2000's. Having put his drums aside to concentrate on
his career for a number of years, now getting "bitten by the performing bug", once again Bill got back into playing the drums around 2010 with some of his prior band mates. Some of his influences are greats like Ritchie Hayward, James Graves and Butch Trucks. Bill adds a solid back beat and steady meter to the Tone Gypsies sound and style.


Matthew Tripp - lEAD, RHYTHM AND SLIDE GUITARS, Vocals
Originally from the east coast, Matt has traveled all around the USA from Los Angeles to the Carolinas and played in several successful bands over the years, including "Spiral Mind" and "Choice", he also played in a few blues based bands in south Texas in the 1980's. Gravitating to the guitar at an early age he was influenced by such guitar greats as Leslie West, Jeff Beck and Johnny Winter. Matt has also released a solo instrumental CD, and was invited to add one of the tracks to the compilation CD - "Guitar Wizards Vol I&II", released by Versailles Records, Nashville.


michael K. Potts - 4 and 5 string bass, vocals
Mike is a highly skilled and regarded bassist, songwriter, producer and vocalist, hailing from the Washington DC area.
A self taught musician who has dedicated many hours to the craft since he began playing rock, jazz, blues and R&B at age 13. Mike has played with some very successful musicians and groups over the years including NowChild recording artist Victoria, Warren Wolf, Vince Evans and Total Eclipse to name just a few. He has also appeared at some iconic music venues in the Maryland/DC area including Blues Alley, Phaze 10 and the Eubie Blake Museum among many others. Mike brings a solid bottom end and polished musicianship to the Tone Gypsies sound and style.
